Whether we like to admit it or not, every girl has at the very least given a cursory though to what kind of dress she'll wear on her wedding day. Even if you're not a big believer in weddings, being able to wear something stunning which encapsulates the feeling of sunshine radiating from every pore in your body is marked by the dress that you wear. I myself have always though I would wear a vintage lace wedding dresses but it can be really difficult finding a vintage wedding dress in good condition which fits well. As a bit of a guilty pleasure I've been looking at the Landybridal website for some quick wedding inspiration:
The range of wedding dresses 2016 are equally beautiful, and it's always important to see the full range of dresses, but also, dress to suit your body type. If by chance you happen to be the mother of the bride, Landybridal are also offering 20% off on all mother of the bride dresses.
With warmer weather comes wedding season, which can only mean one thing: a whole lot of stress. Attending a wedding as a guest can be very demanding, depending how many ceremonies you need to attend within a season so it's vital to invest in a couple good pieces for the entire season. CocoMelody is a wonderful company with other 15 years of experience with a website which is beautiful and easy to navigate. In addition to several keywords (from bridesmaid, mother of the bride, wedding guest and flower girl), you can also search through a certain theme. For the upcoming season, I'm predicting ceremonies located on the beach wedding dresses will be particularly popular. For more inspiration and types of wedding dresses (both traditional and modern), you can check out their 2016 wedding dresses. There's also a great range of accessories, including bridal shoes, headpieces and veils- if you need to buy it for a wedding, no matter what your role you can get it here!
CocoMelody are also having a sale, with a number of different dresses and outfits, with some up to 50% off! Even if you're not heading off to a wedding (like me) it's so much fun to browse the website if you're in the market for some classic pieces in your wardrobe.
There's been a whole business of incorporating the humble teddy bear into runway collections, editorials and photo shoots of independent designers. The catalyst for this moodboard was undoubtedly the teddy bears at the Moschino Fall 2013 show, but I wanted to further explore the theme. Jeremy Scott did not champion this idea but social media and the street style phenomenon has popularized his designs above all others. It seems rather unfortunate that the pioneers of underground culture, in particular style such as FRUiTS go unrecognized. However this idea inspired by doe-eyed young girls (and boys!) dragging their favourite teddy around everywhere is universal. It comes as no surprise that the motif does not reoccur as does many major trends, but is ever present in the background rather than at the forefront. The idea of a stuffed bear as a constant companion has therefore been replaced in many instances by a favourite clutch, a pair of trademark sunnies or a cell phone. They are objects which become an integral part of our identity and self-expression and without them we would feel utterly lost. 1- Ashley Williams FW13. 2- The Beckerman Sisters in Coach. 3- Photography by Rachel Louise Hodgson for Haunt-Mag.com Issue 5. 4- original design by Molly Trubody. 5- Björk . 6- 60′s dorm room. 7- Ashley Williams A/W13 via The Guardian, 8- Shutter & Love Girls are Dancin’ on In Tokyo, 1996 compiled and edited by Kotari Iizawa. 10- Street Style at Milan Fashion Week via FashionGum.com, 11- Vogue Australia November 2013. 12- Antonina Vasylchenko by Danil Golovkin for Vogue Russia, December 2012. 13- Backstage at Ashley Williams' Fashion East Show, 14- Moschino Fall 2015 Runway. 9 & 15- original designs by ShopFloorWhore.
Wearing: Maison Michel rain hat, J.W. Anderson X Topshop sweater, Target skirt, thrifted heels and Deadly Ponies bag.
It's very unusual for me to wear an all black outfit on the blog, but I've tried to make it as interesting as possible in terms of texture and shape! I'm a happy little turd now that I finally have this Maison Michel rain hat, which I have coveted and searched the Internet for, for YEARS. I also recently acquired my dream bag from new Zealand brand Deadly Ponies which features these little fox tail charms, which are in fact made from sheep wool. I'm not a huge bag lady, unlike many other fashion bloggers who have mastered utilizing their accessories in cool and interesting ways but this piece just resonates with me. Both the bag and hat were first produced years ago and remind me of when fashion blogging was touted as the thing which would topple even the most influential fashion editors. Of course that hasn't happened and some fashion bloggers have been criticized as being too heavily commercial but it's the idealistic nature and design of each piece which I really admire.
Wearing: Walter Van Beirendonck sweater, POMS earrings, Asos skirt and Sophia Webster slides.
I feel like this is the outfit Daria Morgendorffer would wear in order to convince her school counselor that she is a quote unquote, NORMAL TEENAGER.
