In'Am by llup in PEOPLE: IN FASHION

Thursday, October 24, 2013

You may have noticed that In'Am by llup features quite a lot in the magazine. My wardrobe is filled with pieces from different collections - from perfect staples to luxurious knits and throws, they are all perennially chic.

Three of the best Mauritian models wear In'Am to perfection in PEOPLE: IN FASHION. Anne-lise Ramooloo models a two-tone cape, fusing island exoticism and cool modern working woman,  Katia Moochooram looks beautifully romantic in a colour block knit, and Elisa Hugnin is divinely draped in several looks from In'Am's current collection.

This is my favourite photo from Shenaz Currimjee de Robillard's (In'Am by llup's creative director) photo shoot. Elisa is Venus, her honey-gold hair and striking facial features arrest the gaze of even the most disinterested observer. The cape is ethereal; seductive old Hollywood glamour never looked so good.

A massive "Thank You!!" Valerie Lee for managing to fit the shoot in your busy schedule and creating absolute perfection - as you always do.

This perfect cardigan will work on anything. I would pair it with a pale blouse, the whiter and more transparent the better, with a pair of jeans (slightly distressed or otherwise) and a chic chignon: instant graphic perfection for a shopping trip or a cafe afternoon.

This is a perfect example of an investment this summer: Elisa models a beautiful plum tunic over a swimsuit - which should inspire you to do the same. What could be more chic than just layering up in this tunic after a day at the beach (before heading to dinner) or for a pool party?

Anne-lise just blew me away during her shoot. She brings freshness and a very distinctive edge to every piece she models, including this two-tone cape. We are in Eureka's wilderness, where tropical exoticism meets old French colonialism and a modern day woman who will do as she pleases. The luxurious softness of the cape is armour; her toned limbs mould the fabric as she pleases.

I would like to thank Jenni Button for lending us these black trousers. They pair brilliantly with the cape to construct a modern day look.

This cape can (and definitely should) be worn in an almost infinite number of ways: as with the plum tunic, try throwing it on at sunset when it gets a little colder after a beach or garden party, for example.

Finally, we have Katia modelling an In'Am colour block top for her photo shoot. I love how the delicate top envelopes her as a cosy protector in a mild Mauritian winter. It's a new romantic sensibility, in the language of fabric.
