"Sous le Soleil Exactement" is the name of In'Am by Llup's new collection, from the song of the same name by Serge Gainsbourg.
Campaign:
Photographer: Kunal Jankee
Models: Carl Croft, Anne-lise Ramooloo, Sheliz Wambui.
All bags and shoes are by Piu Piu, and jewelry pieces are limited editions by Nathalie Koenig.
There are sales up to 50% on the cashmere and selected items in the summer collection.
I think I couldn't describe the collection better than the creative director of the brand herself, Shenaz Currimjee de Robillard:
On the title for the collection and the inspiration behind it:
"For me, there is a sense of dreaminess in this song ("Sous le Soleil Exactement") that goes beyond time and space that I find perfect for In’am’s spirit and trans-seasonal signature.
Also there is a sense of voyage, adventure, setting sail…, which is a spirit I try and transcribe visually through the campaigns."
Note: (trans-seasonal means that there are both warmer, cashmere-based products as well as lighter, summery, isle-ready pieces)
On the collection:
"The cashmere story is a voyage… Anne-Lise in her cashmere jogging outfit bare-chested and facing the sea is a modern-day mermaid... Sheliz poised in her moss stitch cape is reminiscent of a mythological bird-like creature in flight… Kunal brings the textures to life beautifully. The cashmere is always about cocooning, yet despite the softness and warmth there is also an “armour-like” quality to the textured knits. I like it that in “armour” there is “amour”!"
The cashmere jogging moulds and drapes gracefully around Anne-lise's legs.
Look how stunning these photos are: it really is like Sheliz is about to take flight in this one; light as air, the fabric cocoons her body without restraining it in the slightest, it almost becomes part of her. The spirit of the collection is embodied in each of the pictures.
Such luxurious pieces are coveted by all; imagine wrapping yourself in cashmere when the wind gets just a little too fresh, comforted by its incredible softness.
"For summer I imagined a vibrant colour story. Primary colours juxtaposed with pastels and contrasts. I like it when opposites attract. Sheliz wears a mustard lurex stripe cap sleeve knit on flame-red Lou shorts with a contrast waistband reading “sous le soleil exactement”embroidered on the inside."
"Like the song, I imagined the spirit fresh, dreamy and audacious.
Also, I wanted the collection to have a distinct cruise and resort spirit as well as a more urban feel."
"In the main image for Summer, Anne-Lise wears a fine coral top with silver-thread lining over high-waist shorts in black linen. Sheliz carries the graphic 2-tone sleeveless top with a teardrop in the back over white cotton capris beautifully. The outfit is accessorized with a white oversize vinyl pouch and matching ballerines from Piu Piu. Carl is our modern-day Travolta fresh in a taupe linen shirt and rolled-up linen pants!"
"Other tops for cruise and resort are gauzy white knits in timeless sport-chic shapes with lurex finishes perfect for night or day, from work to play… "
"For a more urban-resort look, Anne-lise wears the Laguna dress in draped jersey in ashes of rose with a linen boxy cardi in scarlet linen flammé. The oversized green tote from Piu-Piu uplifts the autumnal tones beautifully."
"Aqua tones appear in gauzy linen maxi-skirts and sport-chic cotton vests in new colour associations (aqua/gold/sand/lavender). These are summer graphic tones evocative of our lagoons reaching up to the horizon and beyond."
"For a more urban look, the Smoke Dress is a Tuxedo dress reworked for the isle. In black linen, it is lined with satin around the collar and edge of the pocket and the dress discreetly flaps over to reveal “llup” embroidered tone-on-tone on its lower edge."
"For evening, the cowl neck halter in Italian viscose is cut to reveal shoulders beautifully. The top comes in midnight black, champagne and emerald green."
What's so great about these pieces is that they are so versatile: not only can they be worn at any age, but they can be styled in countless ways, pieces that should be an addition to everyone's wardrobe. The fabric is of the highest quality so you are sure of a piece that will last for years.
Men are spoilt for choice too (girls, I would seriously recommend you get your man one of these pieces for Valentine's day. I mean seriously, he will wear these pieces often, they will last forever...what a better constant reminder of you and the great girlfriend/wife/partner that you are?)
Every man should have a beautiful checked shirt in his wardrobe - it is the very archetype of the 'smart casual' look.
The jumper with sporty patches on the elbows - they are right on trend in the UK at the moment, and doubtless will be in Mauritius too. It really transforms the mood of a classic piece.
Such a rich blue - it brings the outfit up to a whole new level.
And if you have a boyfriend who has this piece...you could always borrow it, and wear with a pair of white shorts, cute sandals, a classic tote bag and a hat. Perfect outfit.
