More Summer 2012

Style Mauritius wasn't able to go to the first edition of the Heat Fashion Tour at Phoenix, but I will be present this Saturday at Bagatelle. Don't worry though-I'll personally go to Phoenix to check out what the shops have new in store, and present-tadadadaaaa-your Christmas wishlist, compiling the best out of all the shops of the island (that means from Port Louis to Curepipe to Grand Baie to Phoenix to Tamarin to Moka to Flacq to Bel Ombre!) This article should be ready by December just in time for the big splurge!

Menswear Trends

1. Colour blocking. The biggest colour trend in 2011, and mixed up with neutrals in 2012, colour blocking now enters menswear, but seems to be more toned down.

2. Loose but structured, with some east meets west elements (some designers injected the feel of North Africa or the Arab world into their tailoring, bringing in an almost nomadic aspect to conventional European/Western way of dressing)

3. Sportswear or sportification, and utilitarian-probably the biggest trend.

Designer collaborations? Yes please!

H&M for Versace was launched today and has probably already sold out. Rumour has it that Tom Ford will be the next designer up for a collaboration, and if that happens, I'll fly to the UK and camp out in front of the store.

My favourite piece of the Versace for H&M collection is the leather dress with metal studs:



The collection is made up of, in Donatella's own words, "iconic versace moments".
