...Because you can't be en vogue if your face doesn't reflect what's en vogue beauty-wise.
Fortunately to all the low-maintenance women out there, minimalism is the order of the day.

My Week-LifeStyle
What a whirlwind this week! And it's going to get even more exciting this November and December with all the awesome events coming up. I've just updated the events page, so get your pens/mobile calendar ready and start noting down the events mentioned here: http://stylemauritius.blogspot.com/p/upcoming-events.html
L'Atelier
I've just started working again as a journalist during the university holiday, and for some reason I am drawn to L'Atelier every day come lunchtime. For Rs 150, you get a big tarte + salad bowl of yummy salad (no joke here, really yummy crunchy lettuce with creamy dressing and toasted walnuts) and sliced bread. Enough to fill me up until I get home. The best bit? You can sit down on one of the comfy sofas (or at your table) and READ all the books you want. And the books aren't commercial rubbish. I tend to not like reading French more than I do English, but I read (and subsequently bought) L'Etranger by Albert Camus (it won a Nobel Prize for literature) and it has become one of my favourite books ever (my favourite is Madame Bovary). And the clientele is fantastic too. Begone the business types with their power suits (although there are some of them) and hello to artists and literary fans!
Belly Dancing
Catrine Benoit started dancing when she was seven and has specialised in belly dancing for the past seven years, having been trained under the best dance teachers of the island. She gives classes on Wednesdays at 6pm-7pm, at only Rs 500 per month, at Energy Fitness Studio (in the Samad Silencers building in Castel). She is EXCELLENT. I started my first class this week and loved it!(Plus all the Atelier food had to be burned off, ein?) This dance has sensuality and raw power, something which most other dance forms (apart from ballet) don't have. And it really imbibes this feeling of femininity and grace to even the most awkward person (yours truly). Contact her on the 928-9943 and catrine.bellydance@gmail.com.
Versace for H&M
The premiere of Versace for H&M was held in New York last night. Typical Versace, the clothes are striking, in sexed up cuts and bold hues.

Next week: All on what you guys (taken here to literally mean men) should and will be wearing this summer, the models who have broken into the international fashion scene, and much more.
Have a great week and amazing weekend!
xoxo
