Every day, once a day, give yourself a present

Back when I was obsessed with Twin Peaks, and before the Showtime revival was announced (and our collective hearts broke when David Lynch left as director) I wanted to create a master post of everything Twin Peaks. I then forgot about it and became too busy to complete it- or more accurately felt paralyzed by the immensity of the task at hand. Looking back over what I had so far I realised I did have enough content to create something eerie and mysterious, but also that Twin Peaks is so complex it was almost impossible anyway. I was more interested in the buildings and landscape, rather than the relationships between each character or how they were portrayed throughout the series. The background of a small town was the most affective backdrop to the mystery thriller series which enthralled America, but also subverted the closeness of tight-knit communities everywhere. It's for this reason that pop culture fanatics make pilgrimages back to where the series was originally filmed and place themselves amongst the scenery.
