SM MERS
Netizens were left in awe of SM Entertainment’s preventative actions in light of the MERS outbreak that has been sweeping through South Korea.
At TVXQ’s Special Live Tour T1ST0RY concert this past weekend in Seoul, despite earlier criticisms about their continuation with the concert, SM Entertainment didn’t hesitate to do their best to protect the health and safety of not only their singers and staff, but their fans as well.
Thermometers and bountiful amounts of hand sanitizer were provided at the venue while face masks were made mandatory. In addition, ambulances, emergency medical rooms, and medical staff were ready to respond to emergencies onsite.
SM Entertainment even allowed ticket refunds to any fans who felt their safety was at risk and couldn’t attend the concert anymore, in addition to banning merchandise sale at the concert to minimize the transfer of germs between people.
Netizens have had nothing but praise for the entertainment agency, many claiming that the company is doing an even better job at handling MERS than the South Korean government is.
See what some netizens have to say about the matter:
[+1,290, -73] How is it that some pathetic entertainment agency is taking better preventive measures than the country of Korea ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ This is hilarious. SM has taken so many preventive measures in three steps with temperature takers, providing hand sanitizers, ambulances, emergency medical rooms, medical staff on site, mandatory masks, and even allowing ticket refunds the day of. They also didn’t allow any merchandise sale. Park Geun Hye just needs to quit being president, let’s send Lee Soo Man to the blue house.
[+1,152, -61] We live in a country where the citizens of SMTOWN are safer than the citizens of Korea
[+990, -51] Looks like Lee Soo Man is a step above Park Geun Hye~! ㅋㅋ
